This time on the Haiku Pea podcast I have a few reminders for you:

You have 7 days left to:

  • get your split sequence entries to the podcast, check the website for the correct email. The new emails seem to be working just fine and if you send submissions elsewhere they run the risk of getting lost. If you aren’t sure, check out the submission page on the website.
  • write your poem for the February Poetry Pea Prompt and leave them in the comments section for Linda Ludwig, our YouTube editor to read. Remember Linda’s choices do get published in the Journal from now on, BUT and this is important do make sure we know who you are.

I really, really need people to volunteer to be on the judging panel for the podcast. It makes a huge difference to hear voices other than mine talk about haiku and I know I learn from the opinion of others. Please, please volunteer to join me. I promise you it’s actually fun.

What does that mean?

I reply to all our submitting poets by the 25th of every month.

26/27th of the month you should receive a document with all the poems accepted for  the submission period you are judging.

You chose your favourite and write an analysis that tells us why. No more than 350 words. Just the way you would speak to a friend about something you like.

It will go in the journal, but our lovely copy editors will tidy it up for you, if it’s needed.

I set up a  zoom call for  the first weekend of the following month, if possible around 18.30 Zürich time (that’s CET).

I will need to see your  350 words or less  before the zoom call so I can work out the logistics for the podcast.

We record your thoughts on a poem for the podcast. But you will feel like you are having a chat with a few fellow poets. It’s fun… honestly!

  • You don’t need to be a professional poet
  • All opinions are valuable
  • We all learn from the experience
It’s fun!

If you have a 15-20 second video, recorded in Landscape mode which you think would be inspirational as a prompt for YouTube, do send it to me or indeed one for which you have written a haiku or senryu, I’d love to consider it for our haiku moment or prompts on YouTube.

Monthly YouTube Prompt

You can listen to Linda Ludwig’s choices from our January YouTube prompt. If you’d like to read them again you can read them in the Poetry Pea Journal out in late June.

Sign up for the mailing list to be notified when the Journal is out (and other handy information).
