We are celebrating haiku because this week, on the 17th April, it’s international haiku day.
I thought today would be a good day to celebrate some fantastic haiku, award winners from the first five years of the Poetry Pea Journal. Each of the following poems were chosen as a Judge’s choice Now I didn’t choose every award-winning poem to feature as some of them were senryū and I think that we should distinguish between the two.
I ask the question on the podcast… “Are haiku poems of nature or poems of the season?” Please let me know what you think.
