poetrypea.com brings you a podcast of haiku all about the bees, well, more or less. The first poems were inspired by the Poetry Pea Video prompt which you can find on the Poetry Pea YouTube channel. There’s a prompt every month except December. You can leave your poems in the comments section (as many as you want) and Linda will read them and chose some to feature on the podcast and in the Poetry Pea Journal. Go on you know you want to do it!

Then in the second section Patricia reads more original bee haiku from past Journals. It really is a favourite topic.

This lovely video was taken by Kimberly Ludwig. Thanks Kimberly for a lovely, colourful video featuring a chonky bee.

Thanks Linda for all the work you do for the video prompt.

The poems from the video prompt will be in the next Poetry Pea Journal: 4:24 out at the end of August 2024

Bashō’s poem:

from deep in the peony’s stamens
a bee crawls out
a reluctant parting

If you listened last week you may have heard Bona and I talking about the Haiku North America conference which is taking place in 2025 on the West coast of the US. It’s a long way to go and quite expensive from here, so I’m starting to save to see if I can make it. If you’d like to help you can:

you can take out a membership from which you too might benefit.
