Today we’re meeting the poet Alvin B Cruz from the Philippines.

I had some fun creating this poetry podcast, which I hope will come through as you listen to it. I think you’ll enjoy it too, do let me know and remember, if you have a book of Japanese short form poems, haiku / senryu / haibun/ tanka that you would like me to consider for a reading here at Poetry Pea, do get in touch. I’ll need a hard copy of your book in order to review it.

A few reminders

Reading periods:
1st to the 15th September you should be submitting haiku using Kire… the simply delightful Kala Ramesh gave us some tips in her workshop in episode 22 of this series.

16th to the 30th September it’s split sequence time. You can send them as solo or collaborative poems. Criteria is on the submissions page, and of course Peter has been on the podcast a couple of times. Check out his appearances on the podcast. He is the originator of the sequence when all is said and done.

Monthly video prompt on the Poetry Pea YouTube channel, leave your poem in the comments for a chance to be in a podcast and the Poetry Pea Journal.

I’ve not put the poems Alvin read in the show notes today, they are in his book though. If I’ve left anything out do not hesitate to email me and tell me and tell me what you think of the podcast.
