What I’m looking for is someone who has definitely looked at Kerouac’s work. Tried to follow
- his spontaneity

Has read their poems aloud to make sure they have a sound and rhythm
Jack wrote about themes:
- his travels
- religion
- compassion
- mercy
- love
- the state of nothingness “mu”
- nature in combination with humanity
- philosophical thoughts on the human condition
- impermanence
Other pointers:
- no 5-7-5 haiku
- simple language
- listen to the sound of each word, each syllable
- think about your reader
- how will they interpret the words
- how will they interpret the sound
- how will they react eg. sway/tap their feet
