poetrypea.com presents a podcast of original haiku and senryu submitted for our open theme and the video prompt on our YouTube channel @PoetryPea. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this podcast.

Welcome and thank you for joining us today at the Haiku Pea Podcast. A podcast dedicated to Japanese short form poetry in the English Language speaking world. My name is Patricia and paradocically I live in Zürich and spend much of my time in a Swiss German speaking universe.Which might account for the odd way I sometimes use my verbs.

Today I’m joined by Ravi Kiran and Lynne Jambor who have been on the podcast before and Allison Douglas-Tourner who is making her debut here today. We will be talking haiku and analysing some of your wonderful haiku and senryu as we bring you a selection written for this open submission period. There will be more in the third Journal, which in all probability will be out in January next year… but remember Journal 2 from Poetry Pea in 2022 was recently published and you can buy it now and support the work we do here at Poetry Pea.

If you were signed up for our mailing you were offered an early bird discount… one of the advantages of being signed up. So if you aren’t do go along and sign up today… don’t miss out on early bird discounts or the news from Poetry Pea. Next year we are, as always up to lots of interesting Japanese short form things.

I’ll start today by reading you Linda’s choices from our Video prompt on YouTube. The next one will be up on the YouTube on the first of January. Obviously if you are subscribed to our channel, and why wouldn’t you be… it’s a free resource after all… it will pop into your life on cue, if not you’ll have to head over to Poetry Pea’s YouTube channel and find it.
