Here at Poetry Pea we’ve had some cracking topics to write our haiku & senryu about so far this year. Colour, punctuation, Kerouac and if you’re listening to this in May 2022 we’ve just finished writing speculative haiku. I don’t know about you but I’ve learnt such a lot from all our speakers so far this year. A big thank you to them.

Have you listened to Roberta Berry’s workshop on how to use memory in your haiku? What an inspiration that was at least for me and I’m looking forward to reading your submissions in June 2022 on that topic.

Questions:

  • What shall we  study in 2023
  • Who should I  invite to give us workshops
  • Could you go to wherever you get your podcast and leave a review, please
  • Have you gone  to our video prompt on the Poetry Pea YouTube channel
    • written your haiku in the comment section
    • made sure you are subscribed to the channel
  • Are you signed up for our newsletter

Thank yous:

Thank you to Kristen Lindquist who sent me a copy of her wonderful poetry book, Tourists in the Known World and Debbie Olson who sent me a book I have been lusting after for sometime but not got round to buying, Lee Gurga’s Haiku : A Poet’s guide. Both are little treasures. Thank you.

To the Poetry Pea editing team this month:

Annamaria Domburg Sancristoforo, Ron Craig, Robert Horrobin, Vandana Parashar, Lorraine Padden and Liam Maguire

To the Community Judges this month:

Joshua Gage, Ken Slaughter, Rose and Joanne Morcom

To our lovely YouTube editor Linda Ludwig who reads all your haiku and senryu on the prompt.

Ideally we would like to have original work but if it’s not original and has been published elsewhere please do put the place it was first published so I can give it credit.

Don’t forget to pay a visit to our sister podcast Poetry Pea Readings, and enjoy a little one to one time with some poets and their poetry.

Til next time… keep writing!
